The second year of activity of the TREASURE project starts positively with great results. We are very satisfied with the success of the “Call for Expressions of Interest: innovative solutions and novel techniques for environmental remediation in port areas”, and we are happy to announce that the evaluation and selection process is almost completed.
By the end of the month, the solution providers who have sent their application form will be contacted and informed of the outcomes of the selection. We would like to thank them all for sharing with us their innovative proposals, the quality level and the number of applications went well beyond our expectations.
During the opening period of the call, from 16th September to 13th December 2024, we received 59 application forms, submitted by 47 different organizations (companies, universities, research centres) from 13 countries, even beyond the Euro-MED area (Belgium, Denmark, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Serbia, Spain and the United Kingdom).
We are glad to report also that submitted solutions respond to each of the challenges identified by the TREASURE partnership: water management, protection and restoration of biodiversity, energy management, sediment management, improvement of air quality and waste management.
As announced in the call, selected solutions will become part of the TREASURE catalogue, which will be completed by mid-year, and which will contain a series of innovative proposals that could be adopted even by a wider audience.
The TREASURE solutions will be involved in several dissemination moments with the scope of presenting themselves even outside the partnership: the first workshop organized in this regard will be held in a few weeks, on the occasion of the next project meeting in Durres, on 18th and 19th February 2025.
