Second Interreg EUROMED Mission for Natural Heritage Institutional Dialogue in Malaga

On 28th and 29th November, the TREASURE project attended the 2nd Mission for Natural Heritage Institutional Dialogue event, which was organized in collaboration with the 6th International Marine Science Communication Conference in Malaga.

Day 1 focused on marine and coastal restoration, and the discussion addressed the target set under the EU Nature Restoration Law of 30% of terrestrial, coastal, freshwater, and marine ecosystems in good condition by 2030. Speakers presented the policy context and some examples of adoption of the restoration agenda in the Mediterranean. Room for discussion was offered to projects presenting tangible actions and financial opportunities to reach the 2030 goals.

The second day was dedicated to capacity-building, where participants had the chance to attend a training session on policy science interface, during which several questions were raised and a new critical approach to green growth and circular economy was stimulated. During the working groups’ session and the marketplace TREASURE representatives had the chance to meet the Natural Heritage community of practice, to exchange ideas and identity opportunities for collaboration.
